Best brokerage account for investor

#1
I have my Demat account with ICICI Bank (It was originally with Bank of Rajasthan prior to their merger with the ICICI bank.)
I want to open online trading account. Can you please suggest which one would be best for me. I am basically an Investor and not frequent day-trader.
Which one would have lowest brokerage rate, and what it should be?
Please enlighten. Thanks in advance.

the popular ones here in this forum are :
a) RKGlobal
b) Zerodha and the new entrant
c) RSKV
d) Angel

a: RKGlobal offers rs.9 per lot and encourages its own demat account. Plus there is monthly maintenance charge. verdict for you : Avoid.

b: Zerodha: no frills account. has DP tie up with IL&FS [one of the largest DP in country]. No monthly maintenance charge. Great software and great customer service. Verdict : Thumbs up !!

c: RSKV: comes with monthly prepaid brokerage structure of 1947, which is not suitable for you. Verdict : Avoid.

d: Angel : have to negotiate brokerage. Plus you have to keep trading to have your account active. Verdict : Stay away.

ofcourse, these are my personal opinions based on my experience and hearing from others. And there are many others like Reliance, sharkehan etc whose performance and behavior is is lines of Angel. so make informed decisions.

And lastly, you've committed to be "Investor", stay that way and don't turn "day trader"..unless your risk appetite has changed.

All the best.

Thanks a lot comm4300 for your forthright views.
So your suggestion is in favour of Zerodha. But in some thread in this forum, someone had commented that Zerodha is best for day-trading, and not otherwise. However, he had not replied why zerodha was not good for investment.
My demat account is with ICICI bank. Can Zerodha link to this demat, or would they open a new demat account?
If there is no reason why zerodha is not good for investment, I would definitely like to go for zerodha.
Regards.
