Understanding of Brokerage from the perspective of Geojit

#1
Hi,
I am new to the world of equity trading. I am having account with Motilal. Today I bought TCS Future. In the contract wordings were "FUTSTK TCS27 Apr 2006" at Rs. 1942. My broker told me that I can sell this till 27th April, otherwise it will expire. Now I will have to .10 brokerage twice i.e. at the time buying and selling, which would sum up approximately Rs. 900.

Now on www.geojit.com, they mentioned only Rs. 75 brokerage per contract. I am unable to believe this rate. Could someone confirm, whether the abovementioned TCS lot (FUTSTK TCS27 Apr 2006) that I bought today, will attract only Rs. 75/- in case of Geojit account. Is it true or I am interpreting wrongly.

Thanks in advance.

Regards
Ashish

Dear Ashpin,
you had said that you are new to Eqity trading & if so, i am unable to understand as to why you have entered into futures trading straight away.Pl trade in cash segment initially till you understand the intricasies of the mkt & the risk is minimum here.Besides, you could get excellent ,impartial ,genuine & profitable recommendations in this forum from well experienced well wishers which are time tested & free of cost.
As for the brokerage, the lowest i have come across for small timers is 0.04% on eitherside, plus statutory levies.
all the best,
ranga
