Excel Settings
1. Login to Trader Terminal and open the ur favourite maket watch.
2. Right click on the market watch and then select Update in Excel.
3. Save the excel file. Generally it save in the name of VbExcel under iifl\Log folder. Leave the VbExcel file without any change just save it.
4. Open one more excel file named as RTDATA & rename the sheet1 as RTDATA (sheet name & file name will be same).
RTDATA Excel File Settings
5. We just need Scrip name, Last Price & Last Traded Qty. If u wish then give the headings on the first row of RTDATA file(See the screenshot).
6. Clice cell A3 and type the scripname. ie example Gold & in A4 Silver & so on in RTDATA file. Dont change anything in VbExcel file leave the file unchanged.
7. Now select B3 which is next to Gold and type = then go to Vbexcel file then select Golds LastRate and hit enter(in screenshot E2 Cell). Now select C3 in the RTDATA file then type = and goto VbExcel file select Golds LastQuantity and then hit enter(here G2 cell).
8. Now ur blank workbook will show golds last traded price besides Gold which u manually typed and it will keep on changing as per the trade. when u double click the cell u will see something like =[VbExcel.xlsx]Sheet1!$E$2. this means for me the gold last traded price is on Cell E2 in VbExcel file.
9. Do the same for rest of the symbols. Here is how my excel file looks.
10. Now select cell B2 which is gold last traded price and then go to formulas menu there u will see define name. click that and a box will appear saying new name type Gold_ltp in name field and click ok.
11. Now select cell C2 which is gold last traded price and then go to formulas menu there u will see define name. click that and a box will appear saying new name type Gold_vol in name field and click ok.
12. Do the same for rest of the symbols.
Amibroker Settings
13. Open AmiBroker and create a new tick database. in Data Source select DDE universal Data Plugin. in number of bars type 50000. now hit ok button
14. Select Symbols>New in amibroker and type Gold in enter new symbol name box and click ok. REMEMBER THE SYMBOL NAMES ARE SENSITIVE. TYPE THE NAMES EXACTLY THE SAME WHAT YOU HAVE TYPED IN RTDATA.XLSX A2 A3 CELLS
15. Now go to File>database settings and hit configure button. Configure DDE plugin box will open.Select generic2 {Ticker}!{Field} in preset. type Excel in DDE Server. type MCX!{Ticker}_ltp in Last field. type MCX!{Ticker}_vol in last size field and leave the other fields without any change.
16. Click Ok button on Configure DDE plugin box.and click ok button on database settings box. and now u will see in bottom right hand corner of amibroker as CONN WRITTEN IN GREEN and also the charts will be updating real time with tick data
Back Filling
17. select the script For example right click on gold select tick list. After open the tick list then right click on the tick list window select save as CSV.
18. Now in save as window just type as Gold and in ur desired place (Scipt name same as RTDATA file. name is case sensitive).
19. open the Gold.csv file. In this csv file Time&Date in cell and LastRate and Volume are in seperate cells.
20. But we need in the format of Ticker, Date, Time, Rate & volume.
21. So insert 2 columns before the time column. And after that in A1 column type the Scipt name as Gold (same as in RTDATA file and Amibroker), and fill it till the tick list available in the A Column.
22. Then copy and past the C column in to b column. Now select the entire B column then right click and select Format cells then in category select Date and press ok. Then select entire C column then right click and select Format cells then in category select time and press ok.
23. Then select save as then in save as type select CSV(comma delimited) then type the file name as scipt name over wright it, and close the file.
24. Now go to Amibroker and select Import Wizard in File Menu then click the pick files and select the Gold.CSV file click next then in column1-->ticker, column2-->Date,column3-->time,column4-->close,column5-->volume and other columns select skip then select next and finish.
Thats all the process.
