ICICI Fund Allocation Problem

#1
Today, ICICI literally dropped an atomic bomb on me. Around 10am I started getting error messages when I tried to allocate funds for trading. I really got furious & called their call center number. The lady there told me I cannot allocate funds today as it is a 'closing day' for the bank. I got more furious & blasted the lady (felt sorry she had to face angry customers because of the technical fault with the website). Later she gave me a roundabout solution (which is not a solution at all) to sell some of my holdings to create fund for trading. What an idea Sirji !

I am sure their website had some technical problem. Even later in the day, I had problems opening their website (forget logging in). I have shot an email to their so called customer service. Let me see what they have to say. Last time I sent an email, they never bothered to reply. I am already irritated with their service. I will have to start looking elsewhere if there is a good alternative.

ICICIdirect has most frequent technical snags, their website is unavailable at times, they have almost non existent customer service still charges a high joining fee, a hefty AMC, monthly software charges and brokerage that is amongst the highest in the industry!!!:annoyed: People who use ICICIDIRECT are well aware of these problems but for reason many of them are hesitant to transfer their holdings to some other DP account and close down their icicdirect accounts. For people who trade in NSE scripts only zerodha is an excellent low cost alternative...

I speak from experience, I had an ICICIdirect account for around 3 years. I found their services extremely unreliable, unprofessional and expensive. I posted a detailed review of my experience at one of the other traders' forum. Heres the link http://www.***********.com/brokers/4382-icicidirect-unreliable-unprofessional-expensive.html

The comments of other traders/investors will give you an idea about the general dissatisfaction level with ICICI demat services.
