clearance charge

My broker charges Rs 100 as CLEARANCE CHARGE.. for buying and selling one lot of nifty futures. Do all brokers charge CLEARANCE CHARGE. I have no idea what the CLEARANCE CHARGE is. Please explain what is CLEARANCE CHARGE..

Dear Jayan,
What is this clearence charge?my contract notes not shown these charges...are you mean it as STT charges?

hi Jayan

most of the nse members are 'trading members' & not 'clearing members'
as fr becoming a clearing member u require a higher networth and the hassles involved are plenty.. hence many members pay a 'clearing charge' to other "clearing members" and get their clearing done thru them..
probably the clearance charge that ur broker is taking frm u , goes to the broker thru whom his clearing gets done, although 100 rs. on one lot of nifty looks mighty steep....
