Allocate Funds in Motilal

#1
Hi
I am very new to trading and I have opened a trading and DEMAT account with Motilal Oswal. I have savings bank account with SBI and I am trying to allocate funds to my trading account. I am not sure how to do this.

Can anyone of you please tell me how I can mark a lien on the funds? Is there a way? I phoned my sub broker and he asked me to give a cheque which i find it odd...

all you have to do is to issue a account payee cheque to Motilal Oswal through your sub broker. so that you can transact in the market. it is not odd as it is the common practice in India

Thanks sr114 for your response. I have my savings account already mapped with the trading account. I gave a canceled cheque when i openend the account. Now, when i want to add funds to the trading account I had to issue a cheque with the amount. Can't I not use a net transfer (like ICICI direct)?

Many thanks for your reply
