Re: new cheapest broker is here. Zerodha

... Basically if you walk into our office, you can walkout with a trading account assuming you want to open just a trading account. None of the brokers do it, but it is possible. Presently, we take 1 day to open trading account from the time we have the correct documents. To open it within a day and also making it live we need to inform about the system we are putting in place to cross verify the KYC documents. We are hoping that very soon, you can walk into our office and walkout trading on your mobile. :)
As I had said before, Rupert Murdoch had said: The world is changing very fast. Big will not beat small anymore. It will be the fast beating the slow.

We are trying to be as fast as possible... :)
Intresting. :D

One query:- Do you have any plans to offer commodities trading anytime soon. If yes, then would you also offer MCX alongside NCDEX? I say that because MCX has more liquidity in non-agricultural products like Gold, silver & Crude oil than NCDEX, which I trade.

We all know the bitter rivalry among the promoters of both commodity exchanges, FTIL and NSE. :( NSE wouldn't ever allow MCX to be in its NOW Platform.

Re: new cheapest broker is here. Zerodha

NSE NOW will stay free for the investor clients... The charges would be applicable to our dealer terminals which is in our branches. So it should make no difference to any of our clients.. .Cheers...
Hi zerodhaonline
Currently NOW provides Two types of platforms
(1) NOW Express for investors - Internet based facility for clients
(2) NOW for Clients - A Terminal For Clients To Trade (software Based)

Are you telling that the second (i.e., NOW for Clients) will be charged ?

Re: zerodha??

Opened an account 10 days back.. started trading already...Now is beautiful.... brokerage is mind boggling, i can exit my option positions at 30 paise difference and make money.. i usually trade with 300 to 500 ( 6 to 10 lots) of nifty options.. So many new strategies suddenly seems to be making sense...
COOL. Thanks for very encouraging information. I am planning to open a/c.

Re: new cheapest broker is here. Zerodha

For nifty options after seeing my contract notes these are the break even points(inclusive of all taxes etc etc etc.. ).. 15 continuous days of profit, first time in my life.. ... Was so used to 4 to 5 points break even on my option trades....

1 lot , points to break even : 0.98
2 lots , points to break even: 0.54
3 lots, points to break even: 0.39
4 lots, points to break even: 0.32
5 lots, points to break even: 0.28
6 lots, points to break even: 0.25
7 lots, points to break even: 0.22
8 lots, points to break even: 0.21
9 lots, points to break even: 0.20
10 lots, points to break even: 0.19
15 lots, points to break even: 0.16
20 lots, points to break even: 0.14
above 20 lots points to break even: 0.13
above 100 lots points to break even: 0.10

Cheers
in the above example you took the caliculation with only one side brokerage and taxes and did not consider the taxes and brokerage on the other side..breakeven should include charges and taxes of bothsides. if i buy some thing at rs100.. charges for buy are 20 paisa and sale are 30 paisa i will not say breakeven is at 100.2 but at 100.5

zerodha,

I have already sent in my application forms last week. Meanwhile i downloaded
NSE NOW from your site. should i need to download the Scirp master ( cdsscrip.nest, nfoscip.nest and nsescript.nest) files also ?

I am unable to open the scrip master .nest files as my PC couldn't recognize the format. How to extract the contents in those .nest files ?

OR just loggined to NSE now software with confirm scrips download button ticked is sufficient for downloading the scrip master? ( I am yet to get my login and password )

Cheers :thumb:

Yep, you are right.. MCX would never be allowed on NOW... NSE is trying to promote ICEX, the contracts trading are similar to those trading on MCX.. NCDEX and ICEX will be available on NOW pretty soon... Cheers...

All the dealers sitting in the brokers office get a dealer terminal.. It is the dealers terminal that will be charged and not the client... Cheers...

Hi, The above example is considering brokerage for both buy and sell side.. It is also including the taxes for both the side.... For eg if nifty at 6000.. 6000CE buy and sell(assuming premium around 100)... brokerage ( 20 +20= 40) ...All other costs( STT+ transaction + Service tax : Rs 7) ... Total for 1 lot : Rs 47... 1 lot of nifty contract size: 50, cost Rs 47 .. breakeven: 0.98 points..the best part of our costing is, as the order size keeps going up brokerage doesn't go up.. so if you buy and sell 10 lots of nifty brokerage still stays at 40 while other costs go up to 70 .. total cost for 10 lots, 500 nifty buy and sell is: 110 and hence breakeven around 0.2 points on nifty... hope this clears... cheers....
