Kotak commodities- Need feedback, information and reviews from current users of Kotak

Hi guys,

I am looking to open an account As Soon As Possible with Kotak commodities for gold, silver and crude oil futures intraday trading. I need feedback, reviews, information, opinions about kotak Commodities from users having experience with Kotak commodities services Ltd. in recent past.

How do you find its trading software (KC Trader ?). Does it work properly on Windows Vista?

Any problem with contract notes, billing etc.?

Any else issue I should be aware of before opening account with Kotak commodities?

Any special documents that I need for opening account with Kotak commodties? I don't have any sales tax registration. I think they won't ask for sales tax no. if I trade only futures? (I am a day trader, I don't want to take or give delivery of the underlying. )

I currently have an account with kotak securities for equity and currency derivatives and as I am interested in trading commodities I think it would better to go with the same broker's subsidiary company.

About demat account for commodities trading. I currently have a demat account with kotak securities- NSDL for equity and currency derivatives. Can that same demat account be used for commodities trading? OR would I need to open a new demat account for commodities trading?

Trading FNO either equities or commodities does not require a demat account. Basically very few people use KOTAK because of its delayed quotes problem in its KEAT terminal,are you sure this same problem is not there in the KT Trader.Also Odin is widely used,so if there is any problem the n traderji members have found a solution to configuring Odin for Windows 7. Take a demo then we will know both these issues.

Ok, So that means Kotak commodities won't ask me about my current demat account OR ask me to open a new demat account with them for commodities trading.

Can you tell me more about the delayed quotes problem on KEAT. I mean apart from the first minute of the market opening at 9 AM, they always are updating in real time with no delay. I know this because I always open the market depth window to view the quotes and it is excellent. Although I am paper trading for about 4 months now, but I always watch KEAT's quotes all day long and didn't find anything like that you speak of. I haven't used kotak commodities KC trader but I presume it will be similar to KEAT in performance.

Also, I was told by a guy from Kotak securities that their ODIN software doesn't work on Windows VISTA.

I am afraid I didn't understand this. Demo of what and how? Do you mean I ask kotak commodities for a demo account?
