What if I am an Investor and not a trader?

Hey all

Ya, the name traderji does sound like a traders forum .. But I dont exactly have the time to trade regularly. Also I am sorta a newbie and can't expect to generate turnovers of more than 10 lakh a month. I don't intend to trade in derivatives either.

I currently use HDFC sec. But I find the .5 delivery charge on both side a bit steep. Is there any broker who can better that. The day trading brokerage doesn't matter. I want a good delivery brokerage. Also I am satisfied with browser based buy-sell terminals.

I am looking at Geojit and Edelwiess. They seem nice. Pls advice.

If u generate Rs. 10 lakhs Delivery Volumes per month, u can easily get 0.2% to 0.1% with reputed brokers like Angel, Indiabulls, Sharekhan, etc. Delivery brokerage is always charged on both sides.

Sharekhan has 4 decent browser based versions :
1) Classic
2) Fast Trade
3) New Fast Trade (This screen almost looks like their software version)
4) Sharekhan Mini (This is for low bandwidth connection & u can get SMS link for this site also)

thank you for your response. But I haven't read a lot of good things about sharekhan. Issues with customer support.

If u search forums or other's views u will get both good and bad reviews on all brokers. Not only brokers, if u search consumer complaint forums u will see complain on almost all companies. Go for anyone, U will know it well only after u personally use it. All the best.

@kaushik About Sharekhan I have a query.
I heard that Sharekhan offers Open Interest info in FnO .Is the OI position and change in OI given live.
Also is the following given too?
# Long Build up
# Long Unwinding
# Short Covering
# Short Build up for various shares give live during market hours?
