Hey..as you say you are new to stocks, then means your trading volume will be obviously low. So, dont go for any prepaid schemes. Go for normal brokerage rate schemes. I suggest Sharekhan or India bulls or even Religare. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages and you can find details in other forums. Since you are new , sharekhan's customer service is better and you would need that initially I think. Personally, I have used ICICIDirect, Sharekhan and Ventura so far.

Forgot to add, are you new to stock trading and rushing into intraday? Go slow on this, start with less capital till you learn the lessons of market. If you will do intraday daily, then I suggest go for prepaid schemes, else I have already replied what to do.

If you pay 999/- to RK global in the beginning of the month,
No brokerage at all for the remainder that month.
This is directed towards bulk traders.

Hi, Apparicitudu,

India bulls s/w is good. So far as brokerage is concerned, almost every broker charge the same for new clients. If u hv bargaining power, you can ask them to reduce it. Sharekhan is also good, but they would reduce the brokerage only on prepaid scheme. I think SSKI has minimum brokerage charges also.

Some one suggested you to look for India Infoline. Never commit the mistake even thinking of India Infoline. They recently promised me, .01 Intra and .15 delivery, but charged me .5 and .05, after opening the account. Not only that, now I am trying to close the account but they are not even transferring the shares held in DP and holding back money in ledger. Though they claim superiority of S/w, it is just fooling. Even their s/w is designed to manipulate ledger balance, as I had seen in my ledger with just 2 or 3 entries. Hence, be careful. Many do have pre-paid schemes or reduced brokerage, but I find most of them have one or other problems. As per my experience, I think India Bull and sharekhan are better options with minimum problems. Regarding brokerage, try to bargain for .3 and .03 as these are average. Rest depends upon ur volume.
