Re HDFC Trading platform

Hi

I have been using HDFC for online transactions of buying and selling shares, only for longterm pespective because they did not have Day Trading platform and Realtime Market watch. Now they claim that system is in place. I would like to get a feedback from people who have used HDFC's Day trading platform. How satisfactory is it ? Kindly write in detail.

Thanks

I was using HDFC Securities till recently. They did offer me the Day trading platform but wanted to charge Rs.4500/- for the necessary software. I did not take it as it is not an attractive deal.

I can say that they are very prompt in sending the contract notes and your balances are all clear without any doubt. Everyday the balance due to you is transfered to your account irrespective of whether you need the money or not. Every day the account is squared up and hence total clarity and trasparency exists.

Having said that it is also relevant that their charges are as high as 0.05% on each side for intraday and if the future is carried over to the next day the brokerage is double or 0.1%. on each side

I found it to high and have added one more broker Artha money who charges only 0.01% each side for intraday transactions even if you carry over the Futures till their expiry. They charged me Rs.995 for the software. One need to pay a margin of only 25% to 10% depending upon the volume transacted and is to be negotiated.

The minimum commitment is Rs. 10000/- brokerage charges for a year. The brokerage is 1 paisa or 0.01% each way for Cash if squared up on the same day. As already mentioned for future also it is same 1 paise. For options it is 0.5% of options premium or Rs. 50 which ever is higher. If you take delivery of shares the charges are 0.20%.

Hope I have clarified the queries.

I contacted customercare of hdfcsec through e mail but they send me details of their standard brokerage rates of 0.025% (both sides) for futures intraday and what they call "Market Watch" which is only tips and sms alerts. There is no mention of 0.01% brokerage or any advance brokerage commitment scheme.

I am confused.

Please give me the contact details of your hdfcsec branch/individual.

Thanks.

Sri Gaiv,

I had told that Artha money gives 0.01% and not HDFC Secutrities. Please read my post carefully. If you feel I had not said so I am sorry. Now I confirm that it is Arthamoney.com which gives 0.01%
