Scrip Margin Details

#1
I have a demat account with Sharekhan and I trade regularly.

On Sharekhan's site, a page, called scrip margin details, contains details about a particular scrip. I entered BEL as my scrip and got the following details:

Exchange Code : NSE
Scrip Code : BEL
Trading Allowed : Y
Buy Allowed : Y
SR Allowed : Y
SS Allowed : Y
Intraday Trading Allowed : N
Margin Plus Trading Allowed : N
Buy Margin : 20.00%
SS Margin : 25.00%
SR Haircut : 20.00%
DP Haircut : 35.00%
Intraday Margin : 0.00%
Market Pad : 5.00%
Intraday Risk Margin : 0.01%
SK Buy Var Margin : 20.00%
SK SS Var Margin : 25.00%

I have following questions:
Can I find the same details on the website of NSE?
Can anyone explain the meaning of each of the above details?
For BEL, it is written that "Intraday Trading Allowed : N"
Does this mean that I cannot buy & sell BEL for intraday trading?

Let me know.

Hi,

I too have a trading account with Sharekhan. Pls note the scrip margin is decided by the broker, so those stats are specific to a particular broker. You will not be able to get that detail on NSE or BSE.

2. If the stat say "Intraday Trading Allowed : N" then you will not be able to intra-day trade on that scrip, here BEL. You can take delivery and then sell it the next day or after the trading day.

you may want to check the following link for more info:

Pls post, if u need further help..........

Appu.
