Re: Can have two different trading and demat accounts with two firms??

Can anybody help me to give an answer:

Can I have two trading and demat accounts with two different firms. Is this legal? What is IPO? How does this help a small time stock trader like me?

Cheers!
You can have any number of demat accounts but for IPO purposes you can put in only 1 application per person in the retail category.

Hey this might be some importance to you just got this info:
We met the top management for a reality check on the tangible benefits of Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam project. We came back impressed with how the project is proving to be a gamechanger for Gujarat and India. The Rs700b project, expected to be ready in 2012, will have 75,000km of feeder canals and will generate 1,450MW of hydro power: Report by Motilal Oswal

Need not be. There is another legal option, you can apply also along with a relative. An application can have upto 3 names so that is another option. But it would get messy if you have to demat them. :D

Is it necessary for the person to open trading account with icici if he only wants to open demat account with them?
A trading account comes along with the demat account by default. No need to open separately. Say we can apply thru IPo then it gets credited to the demat without the need for a trading a/c.

i asked because.I am opening an account with angel and the guy said amc charges of approximately 500 would apply.SO i was thinking whether demat can be open with my bank hdfc(as they reverses the charges)and trading i do on angel.

Is that possible?
