Hi Guyz,

I am a newbee to this forum as well as trading. Can you please guide me to the type of charges that are levied on a transaction by a broker and also, best options available.

I dont want HDFC, ICICI as their charges are high. But can you guide me to - Sharekhan, Indiabull, 5 paisa, Religare, RK Global etc.

Thanks.

Hi,

I am not aware of others. As i am Sharekhan user, i can give you details. lets one example:

Suppose you bought 200 shares of " NOIDA TOLL BRIDGE CO LTD." @38.53/-

Brockrage Charge: 38.53*200*.50% = 38.54/-

Service Tax: 3.88/-

STT: 9.63/-

So total: 7706+38.54+3.88+9.63=7758.05 you have to pay.

Thanks

@Heaven...Thanks for the info. Can you please clarify the following:

1. Is STT and service tax a flat fee or is it some % of order amount.

2. What are the charges when u sell.

3. Are there any charges for holding onto these shares or is intraday cheaper

4. What is the capital gain tax levied when u make profit.
