Investing/trading as a foreigner

#1
Hi....I wanted to know if foreigners are allowed to invest/trade in indian commodities and derivatives markets? if so, can anyone guide me to the best resources, where i can find a good broker, that will allow me to trade as a foreigner, from overseas? Im based in UK, and am a UK citizen, not an NRI.

I am not sure about Commodities but NRI/PIO (person of indian origin) can't trade in derivaties. They can only take delivery based positions in stock.

Just curious, why do you want to buy commodities in Indian Mkt. There are many brokers in UK/US will allow you to trade Commodities futueres with your account ?

If you want exposure to Indian stock market, then their ETF floated on NIFTY by Deutsche Bank and other Institutions and they are traded in London/ NY.

Foreign individuals (as opposed to institutions) cannot trade in the Indian
exchanges. You could trade nifty futures in the SGX (Singapore) and sensex futures in the usfe (www.usfe.com)
