My friend has HDFC Sec a/c just recently. Please note that unless you are a big investor / khiladi, the brokerage may strike you as high.

They charge a minimum of Rs. 25 brokerage per scrip.

Even for intraday, you buy stock A @ Rs. 100, ten shares. You pay Rs. 25 brokerage.

You sell the same ten shares of stock A, you pay Rs. 25 brokerage.

So 25 + 25 = 50. Just on brokerage! Other charges apply. I lost interest after seeing this and will stay with my old broker.

Dear Vasaji,

Your advise is worth. Thank u. I drop the idea. Is there any other, reliable, prompt, and brokerage is reasonable?

For the forum to help you find the right broker, you should give some details as to what you want to do: intra-day, mainly delivery-based buy-n-hold investing, commodity trading etc.

I say this because some brokers are better for some things than for others.

Only keep in mind, that once you join up for one reason and then change your mind, it will cost you at least something to switch.

I use Geojit's gold platform. I do a little intra-day if the chance presents itself but largely what is called swing-trading.
