Good to know you are doing a real life project... but sseems imaginery, as usually brokers don't face any problems, they are happy-cheerful people.... So your research will be difficult.

Also, I guess we dont have many brokers in the forum...still try your luck.

In volatile markets .. problems are faced by traders, not brokers... brokers just give slippage/no-fill to the traders..:)

brokerage firms should support the 'day traders' most.

1) Day traders generates multiplied volumes ...thus multiplied income for brokers.
2) With 'stop loss' in place its always low risk game.

*********

besides low brokerage rates they should be provided :

1] Fast & light trading platform.

2] Real time data feed for analysis softwares. Charting provided by all of the brokers is just childish. if you cant provide pro solution then make your trading platform such a way that they can feed data to pro softs.

3] Mechanical trading is future of the business Although not yet introduced & permitted in india, look at the experience in developed contries.
It should be concidered seriously that the trading platforms should be made such a way that user can easily write their own scripts for mechanical trading. (I mean unofficial doors opened for mechanical trading in trading platforms.)

4] Robust servers.

5] Prompt 'on phone' order placement in case of connectivity problems. (My existing broker have good one)
