av,

Today I tried MIT order... placing only the trigger price and no execution price... but it got rejected.... So in my view to place market order... it is better to place some price higher/lower as also mention by kkseal...
If you find any other way then do post ....

Well as you observed for only 2 days... plz check for few more days... and let us know the disconnectivity problem...
I also did not face problem of disconnection for the 1st 2 days :D
But now I do..... :(

Regards
Here is an extract from the help file that tells about order types. Pls see if this helps and let us know:

More on Order Types...
Market (RL)- The order is placed based on current market prices. Enter the Quantity, Protection Percentage (You can set the default protection % for market orders) (optional).

Stop Loss (SL)- Enter Quantity and Price, and the Trigger Price. You can mention the Disclosed Quantity, Days if required.(You can set the default protection % for market orders)

you are correct milkyblack. One disconnection and then Nifty June price froze. No changes. I don't think I'll shift to them if it continues like this!
Shucks man. I opened this account (rkg) because icici direct used to pack up often these last few weeks. Now I hope this is not a jump from the frying pan to the fire. :D

I got my user id and pw today. One thing I realised, they dont give any documentation about their trading software or the backoffice software. You are expected to just hack around and find out :D

Anyways I hope their software is better than their customer service, otherwise 'Phir gaya bhains pani mein'

try to put the protection % in preference and let us know if you were successful.

its more like frying pan to hot water, definitely much better. call their office tomorrow about how to use the s/w and let us know!
Yes, I intend to do that tomorrow again. Today I called up for the back office to find out how to fund my account. Maybe tomorrow will be for how to place an order (Good place to start) :)

By the way their new version is expected to be released in a few days (again just quoting the sales rep). Hopefully that will be better. One thing I heard from the Angel broking rep is that ODIN Diet does get into a bad mood if you keep too many graphs open. :D

Is ODIN Java based? If so it wouldn't be too different from Kotak's KEATS, would it?

The DIET version probably doesn't use multithreading, so not really meant for charts And too many of them might create problems.

tradeanywhere is more suitable for charting but it lags odin when execution time is concerned.
