Is Geojit ok.. for opening account?

hai i am complerly new to trading.. even to business.
so can any one tell their experience about the geojit.
their tariff plans.. and etc..

i am unable to find them on thier site..

another query i have is can put money or buy or sell my shares during non-trading hours.. if yes, whatr should i do for availing this facility.

among sharekhan and geojit.. what is the correct choice

.please tell me

I am operating thru geojit since last 4 years and i find it comfortable. Problem with geojit is that you cant operate both offline and online. i.e u dont have both the facilities of doing online trading as well as by phone.

You will have to choose: either online or thru phone (offline)

Charges:
Offline -
Intraday - 0.075% (one way)
Deleivery - 0.5%

Online -
Intraday - 0.03% (one way)
Delivery - 0.3%

The online brokerage for delivery is 0.55%, plus ST @ 12.36% of Brokerage and STT @ 0.125% of Trade value.

Minimum brokerage 2.5% of Trade value or Rs. 20, whichever is lower. This is a big catch for investors whose trade value is less than Rs.4000, since little profits can be converted into losses here. I am with Geojit, and pretty satisfied with their services.

By my calculations, buying costs 0.48% (including ST, EC, EL, STT & SD) and not 0.55% if your purchase is over Rs. 6,667.

Otherwise, the brokerage is a flat Rs. 20 (which is sad).

Selling is the same with a Rs. 11 delivery (demat charge)

Am happy but could be happier if they reduce the Rs. 20:)

could anyone appraise me whether we can get mutual funds also through online with geogit, or is there any different registration for it,
i am based in oman, anyone aware of there service in muscat.
i am new to trading, help me out.
