BSE starts at 1000 hrs and closes at 1530 hrs, NSE at 0955 hrs and 1530 hrs, five days a week and also closed on national holidays.

Opening price of any stock depends upon buy and sell offer being fed in stock exchange.

You can place the order after market hours also which will got executived next day when market will open and your bid comes within the price range of that stock on that day.

If is beneficial if you have your own target for any particular scrip and buy at that level.

There are few more questions left there please answer that also....
One More question added " Purchasing shares while market is closed is beneficial or risky?

if u r purchasing on a target price ie "limit price" than there is no risk cause u know ur target. if u order on market price than sometimes it is risky and sometimes it is fruitful cause many share touch there day high as well as day low on opening bell.
