Please Guide in deciding Online Trading Account

#1
Hi All,
This is the most interesting site I found to gain knowledge on stock trading, I am a newbie trying to get into the stock market listening to the noise around, I am in the process of Knowledge Acquisition and then start trading, I am not planning to trade in intraday but looking on longer time periods, I am in the process of selecting my online trading account, today I met marketing person and relationship manager from ShareKhan who gave me all the details and answered my queries, based on my requirements (Learn & Trade & Long term holding) I found Sharekhan nearer to my requirements as they have lots of articles available on their site to explain trading. Their brokerage charges are 50 Paisa/0.5 percent for deliveries and planning to choose their Web Based applet for trading.

Please do provide with your suggestions if I can go ahead with sharekhan or talk to other providers like IndiaBulls,ICICIDirect...

Thank You

Dear Sri,

Sharekhan is good for new joiners there learn and trade is good for the time being for sometime u can miss others once you are through with your knowledge and when enough confidence is built then u can try different providers....

when you will go through the forums u will find many opnion of several kind some talking good some talking bad...so don't confuse yourself with this....continue trading in sharekhan for some time and then choose....Always you are going to hear join him join them or join what i joined its good, no they are worse these type of statement you are going to find with everybroker around because in India there is no standered or benchmark of Compliance implemented in a way which will show 100% effect ....so stick with one for begining....and my opnion will be you can go with sharekhan.....

in the begining brokerage might not matter i think standard you will get 0.3% to 0.5% everywhere for delivery. And more over leading brokerage houses customer service is only average as in many cases.
....give it a shot...

all the best.
