Market Info
As on 20 August 2006, there are only 174 listed companies.
Trading Hours : Saturday to Wednesday, 9am to 12:30 noon
Delivery based trading only(No short selling), settlement is done on every Saturday.

Standard Commission Rates

Most brokers will charge a fixed amount other than the above.
No other hidden costs or taxes.

My broker is mutadawil.com, they charge 500kd onetime refundable security deposit and 2.1kd on each leg.
About their Online Trading Platform, HTML streaming Free, 20kd per month for Java based application.

Brokers usually ask you to maintain a security deposit ranging between 500kd to 5000kd

In order to open an account and be able to trade on the Kuwait Stock Exchange, you should perform the following steps:
Individuals:
a. Complete KUWAIT CLEARING COMPANY form for Individuals
b. Provides the following:
  • Photocopy of your Nationality Document
  • Photocopy of Power of Attorney (In case you are representing others)
  • Original letter to open the account
  • Photocopy of court order (In case you are a Guardian)
  • Photocopy of birth certificate (In case you represent someone under 21 years)
  • Your bank account details
  • Your Broker name
  • 3/- Kuwaiti Dinars as fees
Note: These rules apply to Kuwaiti and G.C.C. citizens. If you are from another country , please contact Kuwait Clearing Company for help at: (965) 2465694/6/7

1,020 : 2,500-----------20-----------------------20x5=100 Fills---------2,500
2,520 : 5,000-----------20-----------------------20x5=100 Fiils---------1,000
5,050 : 9,900-----------50-----------------------50x5=250 Fills---------500

* One Kuwaiti Dinar is equal to 1000 Fils.Each share cannot increase or decrease more than 5 price units per day.
* A stock that trades at 300 Fils cannot exceed 325 Fils or 275 Fils per trading session.

In order to do a trade, for eg:, National Bank of Kuwait(NBK), today's share price is 2.06 Kuwait Dinar.
So as per the above table, NBK is on 1020-2500 segment, you should buy a minimum of 2500 shares, ie;
2.06*2500 = KD 5150
And the maximum price fluctuation allowed in this range is 100 Fills.
