I just recently started with icicidirect. I also invest in US and use some other broker there.

The difference in ICICIdirect and US broker website is toooooooo much.

ICICIdirect website looks like from bullock cart age. Absolutely crap. I mean there is hell lot of scope for improvement. It uses asp technology. Website is not easy for navigation but once you know basics you can use it for your purpose. I cannot compare brokerage as I don't know outside rates. For my transactions, till now I know I paid around 0.85% for BUY CASH trades. How is that compared to other broker rates?

I can see the scope for improvement and business growth for ICICIdirect but are those internal people seeing that?

That's highway robbery. Most brokerages charge 0.25% for delivery stocks.

Tradeaanywhere is a good terminal you can have upto 5 sec charts, intraday, EOD and all the usual stuff, they even have exchange notices and intraday calls pop up, with all basic charting facilities and indicators except scanning, programmming and back testing . It is much better than diet odin i used both.

ya generally they want min 2000 rupees brokerage commitment but in my case they gave it to me without any monthly commitment, i negotiated .35 delivery and .06 intraday (i never trade intraday anyway) if u insist they will give .3 also, good value for money and every week they will courier there market watch book to you.

Only problem is they are lazy ppl u have to be behind them, first when i started the a/c they sent me letter with wrong rates that i had negotiated when i called they said sorry its come from ho they have fixed rates we'll change it but no letter i had to phone and remind them twice then finally the sent correct rate letter. So u c they are VERY LAZY ppl
You know what? I signed up wid them and iv not received my U id and Password as yet. Just like Swagat86. When i mailed them i wrote this" no broker in this country would take 1 and a half month time to provide with a User id and Password". The RM called me and told me to meet the Regional Mgnr and if i wanted my margin would be refunded. What should i do??

If you get behind them you'll get your pswd and id if you'd prefer not to you can get a refund and check out other brokers. What ever you're comfortable with. They are lethargic i've already said that, but they aren't cheats.

I have icici direct. Even though i never used any other indian brokerage services, it looks OK to me. I agree that their brokerage is high but it is very easy to transfer money from icici account to demat account and vice versa.

Hope we all see a fixed brokerage charges (instead of percentage) very soon!!!

Guys -

I recently (week or so) came across the news that KOTAK has started fixed rate trading and mobile trading services.

That's a good thing. Anyone has more details?
