Any reviews of Motilal Oswal?

After going through this entire section, I have found very little mention about Motilal Oswal. What could be the reason?

Currently, I am in the process of changing my broker from ICICI Direct (for obvious reasons) and have shortlisted Motilal Oswal, Religare and Indiabulls (in that order of preference).

Can anyone throw light on Motilal Oswal? I have seen their demo today and I must say that I was quite impressed with the software (could be because of the frame of reference I had for comparison...ICICIDirect).

I would be seeing demos of others in the next couple of days, so cant compare with these.

Any suggestions/ recommendations would be highly appreciated.

try 5paisa.com.
i am told that religare charges only 2paisa.
about india bulls remember the IPO'S
and some few months back some threads were
running. check up.

Hi jdm,

Thanks for directing me to your post and sharing your experience. That definitely reduces some points for MO during my comparative evaluation

. I am meeting Religare rep on Monday. Lets see what he has on offer.

BTW, are their "do din" over at least by now? Or you didn't bother to pursue t further? Are you signed up with them? If yes, please share your experiences, as I am in the same boat as you were then!

Hi Pranay / JDM
My experience has been the same .
I wanted to open a PMS account ( Portfolio Management Services ) account and then the IPO scam hit .

All the queries on this issue elicited a reponse of this Saturday the order will be signed . When I escalated this matter I got a mail from their chief of operations saying that the matter will be sorted out in a couple of days .

After that I got a mail from Motilal Oswal sometime back stating that their Demat account has been shifted to Oswal Securities temporarily . I was not too keen to join them after their sudden shift in stands .

I have always heard good opinion about Motilal Oswal and maybe this is an isolated case.

hi pranay,
my next experience with them is equally horrific. after the "do din" episode i went to their office (it was friday). the RM was not present there. so i talked with his senior, who in turn told me that the sebi ban upon them has been revoked and my a/c will be activated tomorrow itself. but it also proved to be a false promise. i spend the weekend searching the net (sebi, nse, bse, watchoutinvestrors etc) to get the circular of the sebi order regarding the revocation of the sebi ban on them.

but then the words of the "senior" turned out to be a blatant lie. on monday i rang the up the "senior" and told them to show me the copy of the circular. the terrified "senior" put me on hold until my patience ran out. i called my RM (on his mobile) only to be told by his "bhaiya" he is sick.

i called their office again and insisted to talk with the branch manager. but i was told that poor souls like us do not have access to HIM.

oooppppppsssss enough for this installment my dear.

P.S. - may be my experience with them is an exception in an extraordinary situaltion. i sincerely hope so.

I am also want to open account with Motilal oswal,Except the problem bear by you due to IPO scam is their any other problem with this plateform. What is the brokerage charge by them. One more thing can i invest in mutual fund through this account.

Very unethical brokers with an eye only on the brokerage money.Will literally play with your money.Pathetic service.Incompetent staff.Outright liars.They blew up most of my money.

Most mutual funds are anyday betterthan Motilal Oswal.When I called him Motilal Oswal was very rude to me.
