Default ICICI or HDFC

Hi,
I would like to open a demat account and need inputs to decide between ICICI and HDFC. Could someone provide me the details of HDFC demat acount like:

1) How fast is the online account, during trade timing?
2) How quick the market prices are reflected?
3) How quick the orders(buy/sell) are sent to the exchange?
4) Do they give the best 5 offers for an equity, like the one in ICICI?
5) How prompt in settling transactions?

Other pros and cons...
Simply, Is it worth to open demat account with hdfc or go with the master "ICICI" ?

The following are the info that I gathered:
ICICI HDFC
Opening charges 750 350
Yearly rent 500 350
Brokerage(Inter) 0.75% 0.50%
Brokerage(Intra) 0.10% 0.15%

Thanks in advance

Prashanth

From question, it looks like you want to open online trading account (not just demat account)

I think HDFC rates are one year old

HDFC chares 799 for A/c opening for online trading
HDFC Demat maintenance - 500 P.A
HDFC Brokerage - 0.50% + Demat charges (where ICICI Demat charges included in brokerage)

Hi..

After lot of considerations and surfing on this forum I came to the conclusion that ICICI is too full of members and is not very eager to enrol though they do not say know..so for small, amateur investors it is frustrating.
I have been using HDFC since Oct,2005 and find them quite ok. Have had no specific problem. You can open a 3-in-1 account. As far as speed is concerned, I have never had a problem as I don't do intraday. Perhaps for intraday it will be slow. For intraday I have enrolled with Sharekhan

Regards
