Default Discuss ICICI Direct service issues...

Hello Buddying traders,

Last few weeks I am facing severe service issue with ICICI Direct..I feel like robbed - I have spent three months learning Saintji's technique but unable to trade successfully using ICICI direct services !

Just have gone through following threads....

http://www.traderji.com/brokers-dema...5paise-69.html

http://www.traderji.com/brokers-dema...pose-only.html

...thought of discussing and collecting similar issues from buddying trader in this forum to see if there is any work arounds (including switching broker)....following are the issue that I have been facing in regular basis !

1) The https://secure.icicidirect.com/customer/logon.asp site is slow or down. !
(PS: I have dedicated 2 MBPS BSNL connection and all other sites are absolutely working fine without any issues - my computer has three virus and two spyware checkers and fully healthy)

2) If it logs-in, it does not display tabs and throw some kind of errors !

3) Their Quote is rarely real-time it is always 2-5 minutes outdated !

4) Margin and Marginplus products for Intraday are not always available - they smartly remove it whenever there is a good opportunity in the market.

5) Their support is fake - always takes time to reach to them, even if you reach to them first they will not accept the issue, second if they accept the issue they will cooly say that they are working on it !

6) There are no realtime quote or graph to support intraday trading !

7) It is extremly hard to catch the right price using ICICI direct (except if you use limit order)

8) Their brokerage calculation is very suspicious !

Overall ICICI Direct sucks it is only good for so called long term investment !

Rgds, Nisha

Are your honest experiences any better ?

(If yes, any tips for successfully using ICICI Direct for Intraday trading - like catching right prices, time of trade etc etc)

You can use ICICIDirect an indicator for the day trading. Whenever there are issues with their site, that means there is going to be a strong trend.

For Intraday trading it is always better to go for a broker who offers the terminal software instead of web based trading. Web based trading always have its problems when you need real time quotes and charts.

Try to log in thro' nri.icicidirect.com instead of icicidirect.com.

How does ICICI calculate the brokerage ? And have they increased the rates recently ?

I bought a 3400 CA option for Rs 17, one lot each on ICICI and MOSL ; ICICI charged me 107 while MOSL charged me Rs 20.

For Daytraders, ICICI has a platform called Active Trader, no idea how good it is but here is the link http://content.icicidirect.com/ActiveTrade.asp

Each and every point stated by you is 100% right.
You can check now also the margin window is removed by ICICI deliberately ( Chors)
They will take opportunity for them self and you will be sitting and waiting helplessly watching and logging in again & again hoping margin window may be opened and when market is stable they will allow you to trade in margin

I am going for Angel. Lets see how they are, hoping they may not be worst like ICICI

Regards
krm

Nisha,

You are absolutely correct except the thing regarding quotes. From my experience icici quotes are more fast than many others, but you need to refresh each time.

Their brokerage is not high as recently they are much lower than many, especially for futures day trading. But their trading platform is extremely worse for a day trader.
NEVER DAY TRADE WITH ICICIDirect... you will soon be out of money.

I STRONGLY ADVISING YOU TO GOT TO QUIT ICICIDirect if you are planning to day trade.

Sincerely,
Hari.

Surprisingly my experience with ICICI-Direct has been good.

Trading with them since 2006 Sept, Day Trading & Delivery Trading. Since Mar 2007 shifted Day Trading to Religare & continuing Delivery Trading with ICICI. No issues at all. Well I am a Tiny Trader with very low volumes.

May be I am lucky, to get away with ICICI.

Cheers
