Physical Share transfer
I have physical shares of a company in the joint name of my ex-wife and me. I was divorced in 1997 and since then we have not been in touch as I travelled for a few years thereafter. She does not reside at the same residence I last knew as her address.
It was a divorce with mutual consent on amicable terms and there were no financial obligations between us. I have a demat a/c. How do I get the shares transferred to my name? If I have to send the share certificates to the company for transfer, what documents do I submit so that the company will transfer the share on my name (single holder). Also do brokers charge any amount for share transfer. I have shares on my parents name also which I wish to transfer and demat. If so how much are their nominal charges? Appreciate all the help I can get on this.
