I dont know about HDFC. I have used ICICI direct and RM.
In ICICI they have a minimum brokerage of Rs. 15 or so. It really doesnt matter if you sell 200 shares in one lot or 1 share each 200 times. The brokerage is the same. So is with RM. I hope HDFC Sec will be no different. Check with their Customer Service. Anyway selling or buying 100 "all or nothing" doesnt make much sense. |

The minimum brokerage would be applicable to say you buy 1 share @ 100, so they'll charge 15
if you buy 1000 @ 100 = 100000 * 0.5 (brokerage) = Rs. 500 so, it doesn't affect whether one or two or more are sold/bought at a time. Your order (buy/sell) will attract at least Rs. 15 brokerage. See the contract note.. |

It depends on the buyer side. if there is single bidder with the order more than your quantity..then its possible. even selling 'market rate' wont do. Best would be to go for a broker who does not operate on minimum brokerage basis. as suggested by rajsingh. find some reputed broker..ofcourse! |
