By the way the order book does update afterwards. So the close open excercise needs to be done only once after each login. I am planning to write to Financial technologies with these issues. I dont expect a reply but at least they may fix it in the next minor release in case it is their problem.

milky, I also prefer to login only once, but then sometimes due to power / internet problems, or due to ODIN disconnections, I have to logout and login. By the way, I tried that broadcast server reconnect thing. I mean I disconnected it and then connected it, still no luck.... Maybe I didnot wait long enough. Will try next time (I hope I dont have to)
Hi arm,

Just wait for 5 to 7 seconds after you do the broadcast server thing! I hope it works for you today!
Good Luck

Regards

Hi arm,

You will get a reply. With a form to describe 100 details and send to someone (I think Alpesh), instead of straightforward replies to your queries.

Didn't want to deprive you of that pleasure. Please go ahead. Anyway I am at the most a 1 lot trader on RKG unless some dramatic improvement happens miraculously.

RKG has given a too much bother to me by means of disconnection/freezing of quotes!
Contacted rkg and got an answer from one of them!

To those who are also facing this:
Don't recoonect the broadcast server.Instead close odin diet.Open the folder where u had installed odin.U can see probably two registration enteries, one is of Aircel and another Vsnl.Doubleclick on Aircel registration enteries.Click on yes and ok in the consecutive two windows to come. Now start odin diet.

Can anybody here explain why RK Global blocks more margin in F&O than what has NSE suggested.

While NSE margin is 10% for NIFTY RK global blocks 12-13%.

Thanks a lot for the info... but yes its getting too much nowdays... even the margin is too much to do an intraday! In intraday one expects the bare minimum margin...
And the solution they have provided is like time consuming... if have a open postion then a profitable one can hit the SL... and do not have an open position then can miss many oportunities by the time to do the settings.. And God only knows how many times one has to do it....

Regards

No idea...but the message yesterday clearly mentioned that "due to volatility" (likely)they are increasing the margin by 5%...God knows what is the conception of high volatility... market is tremendous volatile since the January crash, but they are noticing it now when it went southwards to breach the Jan. low?....it's all about bull market, which is not volatile to them I think. So if the market is bouncing back from here, they might not incease it.
