Once order entered, Order Book doesn't open by itself. Have to press F3. Many times new orders ARE not reflected. Pressing F3 opens ANOTHER order book.
Sometimes all trades are not shown on trade book.
To modify/cancel order, select order on order book, Right click, choose option or press Shift+F2/Shift+F3. No button on order entry screen. Bad for a running mkt when anyway I cant place mkt order. (Currently it is a 1 button step for me).
Broadcast server refuses to fetch data for symbols once limit of 20 is reached.
Cannot put mkt protection %.

Of course there are many advantages too:
1. Many mkt watch stretching across monitors.
2. Many order books stretching across monitors
3. Ticks based on conditions.
And some others.

The question is whether this results giving up 50p on 1000 per lot to save Rs 75.
av,

1st of all which broker are you currently with and secondly the charges and features, like charting, ODIN type of thing etc!

And Rs 75/- is like 1.5 points on NF... for a day trader it does matter... is it not?
Yes though if you are a scalper then it matters more... at the same time the function keys in RKG is little time consuming to scalp! But again other broker would charge 1.5 pts etc... for that... then again it is a demerit to scalp!
Please clarify! Even I am looking for the "Best Broker"

I completely agree with you on the issues mentioned by you from the RKG s/w ...

I can confirm it wasnt available for me. Said somethng like all servers up. When it came back NF had gone from 4412 to 4368!!!
My other broker is Geojit. Platform - Reuters Tibco. Charting existent (java charts in browser) but poor.
One must be very brave man to scalp in these mkts without Market orders. I also thought that RKG is a perfect foil for scalps, but for that server has to be available!!

Go a little higher with lot size (RIL 75 to TTML 5225!!!) and the advantages far outweigh RKG's Rs 9 brokerage.

I got disconnected twice today and once yesterday. I also got some connection busy error after each disconnection. Are others facing this problem. Also after it loads the masters (the initial box at the time of login)does any body get the error: 'Contract not found' ?

New in version 9.x some undocumented features (bugs)

1. If order book is loaded as part of workspace it will not update till you close it and reopen it again.

2. Takes hell of a time to login when compared to 7.x

3. Connection busy error while logging in. You have to then restart it and login again.

My experience was better with the previous version.

Dont know why it downloads BSE stocks, NSE stocks, etc when I only want F&O contracts. Anybody has any idea how to turn that off?

You have deleted some contract. Save each scrip portfolio again.

1. If order book is loaded as part of workspace it will not update till you close it and reopen it again.

Told you

3. Connection busy error while logging in. You have to then restart it and login again.

Sometime (usually when you most need it

My experience was better with the previous version.

Mine wasn't. Not with this one too

No. Even RKGlobal doesn't. But you can do it once at 9:50 in the morning and then uncheck both FNO and Equity. Saves lot o time. You can do it again once around1:30 if you think new contracts will be added due to big mkt movement

Arm,

Your queries are all sorted out by av,
to add on to this... yes I too face the d/c problem... but do not restart it... just reconnect with the broadcast server... takes few seconds... but ofcourse these seconds are too expensive sometimes...

I know it takes long time to login... but I login Once in the morning and then I am logged in until I stop trading for the day or 3.30 which ever is earlier.... why don't you too just login once... and incase you have to leave your desk for some reason and you have some security issues you can just lock the workstation...

I have unchecked all of the things like fno, bse, nse etc... to download the masters one can just download it from the tools menu "download masters"

Hope it helps you!

Regards

Thanks av, milky.

By the way the order book does update afterwards. So the close open excercise needs to be done only once after each login. I am planning to write to Financial technologies with these issues. I dont expect a reply but at least they may fix it in the next minor release in case it is their problem.

milky, I also prefer to login only once, but then sometimes due to power / internet problems, or due to ODIN disconnections, I have to logout and login. By the way, I tried that broadcast server reconnect thing. I mean I disconnected it and then connected it, still no luck.... Maybe I didnot wait long enough. Will try next time (I hope I dont have to)
