Am I getting gypped?
I know you guys see topics like these everyday, but bear with me...
Just spoke to a rep from Indiabulls and all thought he did seem like an honest guy with decent recommendations, a few things struck me as odd. 1) He said the brokerage fee of 0.03% would be charged on BOTH the buy and the sell order. I was under the impression that it is applicable only on one leg of the transaction, except for 5paisa's sneaky tactic. 2) The acc opening fee is 900 according to him. Reading through this board, you guys only seem to have paid 200(and another 200 for the demat account which he told me was free). 3) Apparently, I can either have him invest for me through phone calls or I pay an extra 750 for the software to invest myself. Isn't there a free web based java thing I can use?? 4) Most importantly, I have heard a lot about this Power of attorney thing and it's scared the **** out of me. I indirectly asked him about it and he assures me that since all phonecalls will be recorded, neither of us can cheat the other. Is this enough of a safety measure or should I still be worried? That's all I can remember at the moment, clarification plz
