Take out a contract note,and do the following calculation-

Total Brokerage*100/Amount


Ex.:10 ICICI @760 and total brokerage 38. Then

38*100/7600=.5 Rs.

This means broker charges 50 Paise on every 100 rs.

Now if u purchase 50 NTPC @158 how much shall be the brokerage-

Gross Amount=50*158=7900

. .on 100 rs brokerage is .5 rs
.

. on 7900 rs brokerage shall be .5*7900/100=39.5 rs
. .

brokerage charged=39.5 rs.

n for investrs this is the basket where their bought stocks are stored in dematerialised form....
n they get div.... also as well
+ long term profit\loss as the case may be
