If you don't opt for POA then you have to submit a delivery instruction slip after every sell order in cash market at there branch where u have an a/c after 3.30. Incase you are not able to put instruction slip by next day then your stocks u sold will go for auction....that will be nightmare. As with out delivery inst slip signed by you NSDL can't release ur shares.

Religare in their website has mentioned that you must give them a POA for operating Dmat a/c and Bank A/c. Why do they need a POA for bank A/c. This does not seem like normal practise. Could anyone explain this?

POA for bank account is not at all required by a broker. Be careful! If their intentions are not good, they can withdraw any amount of money anytime from your account if you sign a POA for bank account. You have been warned!
