career or start as a business partner / remisier ???

Greetings friends,
I am new to this wonderful site.... I am interested in the stock market....I have am query in which I need your expert help guidance / advice....

I have 10 year's work experience. My I have been in Dubai, UAE for 6 years.Due to recession I lost my job in the cost cutting process & came back to Mumbai in August last year (2011)... In Mumbai I have been working for a proprietary firm as a Equity Dealer for 7 months...then I had to quit because the owner had made big losses & was unable to pay for our salary...I have last month passed my NCFM Derivatives dealers exam with 73.5 %...

Currently in finance, I am in a bad shape ( as I had to pay for outstanding loans in Dubai after losing my job)......Many of my colleagues have told me that I should start as a Remisier if I don't have money or start as a sub-broker / Business partner with minimum deposit of Rs.1 lakh...the reasoning of my colleagues is that as I know many NRI people in Dubai, then I can ask them to trade with me...in this way I can earn in commissions etc ....

2nd option I am looking is a career in the stock market, so on what level should I start with ? I have 10 year's experience in sales & back office...mostly in the Banking industry, not in the stock market industry ....so this is my 1st time in the stock market industry ....should I start in the sales side or in the back office / dealer side (I know research is not for me...) ...many people are saying that the stock market dealer or back office job is hardly paying & it hardly has any growth prospects....

So guys please help me.... also I met the sales representatives of Angel Broking for their Business Partner plan....

Guys please help me .....I am confuse that what should I do ? Join a broking firm for a career or start as a sub-broker / business partner / remisier etc ?

Your kind advice would be much appreciated !!!

Thanks & Regards,

Hi Umesh

Don't lose heart buddy ....keep it up my friend......Life is full of ups and downs ......So don't worry......

Now to your quarry .....Yes it's hard to start a new innings after loosing a steady job for a middle aged person.....but it is not an impossible thing to do ....

1st you have not much practical knowledge in stock market , You should start your career as a dealer or back office staff in a broking house ( though salary is less than your previous job ) and gather practical knowledge on stock market , technical and fundamental stuff and risk management etc and most imp. collect contacts of clients ...

After having some experience go for a sub-broker ship from a reputed broking house and use your previous contracts and knowledge to boost your business.....

and in last stage after accumulate some capital and go for Trading , Investing etc. and become your own boss.......

Most Impotent finished at lest one thread of TJ on Technical Annalise , money management and trading psychology ... This will boost your confidence and nourished your brain financially

hope you should do good in near future ...:thumb:
take care:)

Dear

I very much relate myself with your story! I was also working abroad and now am a sub broker with one of the TM.

I've lost 50% of the trading capital so far, six months. Stock market is the most difficult job that I've realized thus far. My salaried job was more steady and enjoyable. Stock market tend to give you micro attacks!. No matter what you study, this and that, tension is a part of this profession.

Having said this, I am not discouraging you to take it as a profession (I am still it it). It appears that you think your friends will join you as a client(NRI). I may suggest this very factor will put you under pressure. Making them clients is not difficult, but trading their capital (I assume, since they work abroad you will have to trade on behalf of them) is very difficult. In the initial days, stock market and the whole world goes against you! People will easily blame you for your inabilities and you will always believe you did it for good reasons! Why the hell this happened?

So my friend - be mentally tough, strong. Go to Gym every morning, relax as much as possible. Learn to tackle the tension. Learn as much as possible on this forum and elsewhere before trading real money. Learn by heart Money Management. Only when you start making 8 successful trades out of 10, get your friends involved.

A big thanks to AnAtheist, mubzaveri & dineshN !!! Appreciate your kind advice .... Market still bad... Know someone in MF Global ..he is in a senior position...promised me in 1st week of April that he will get me inside MF Global ....but yet not there...have been following up wih him (2 & half months) ..he is saying that due to the take over by Philip Capital ..it will take some time after the name has been changed, the approvals are done etc ... so lets see ...if by this month end I don't get a job in the stock market field, then will bloody take any job ...even it means the call centre ..what to do ??? have a family to feed ...

Anyway thanks again guys ....
