WML, The good is in trading the style that is best for you. The bad is in trading the style that is not the best for you. That is as simple as it gets. No one can better answer that question than you.
You might be able to get some answers by opening a demo account and trading off it, until you know what you are good at.

All I could think of is the time we will be putting in a day (for trading. for learning, we have to invest more time :))

Each has its own style, advantage, disadvantage. Use to do positional trading, when there will be 4 to 5 trades in a month using EOD charts. Recently, very much interested in learning day trading after reading about various systems being discussed here in traderji. For this you need good/fast/reliable ticks and our entire day. Unless you are a full time trader, it will be hard to do day trading (Again this is not my experience, as I am very new to day trading, this is based on what I am inferring from posts). There might be more meaningful comments from people who are doing day trading.

I am sure you will enjoy the journey as everyone do :thumb:

From above posts what i understand is that positional Trading can be done using EOD data and it does not require to sit and watch daily infront of the system.
please correct if i am wrong.

Day Trading i need to watch the system daily need lot of time(even in a day).
But i don't know what is Swing Trading? please highlight some one.

Thanks in advance.

Gunsho, one thing I've learned is that anything worthwhile takes time and dedication. When you consider the freedom that trading avails someone, and the money that is made in this business, then whatever amount of time that is necessary to be fully developed as a trader is worth it.

I am full-time, but I don't need excessive screen time to be a good day trader. If a market has a strong directional bias, then I will either set an entry order or just enter the trade.
Personally, I think the daily, and even the weekly and monthly charts are excellent to gauge a positional position (No pun intended.) on. But, if it is the daily that is giving it away, then I look to use the microscope in the from of the 4-hour to more fully perfect my position.
I also do a Weekly Forecast that highlights 11 pairs. I follow it all week, then use it to enter and exit my trades on.

Positional trading and swing trading can almost be used interchangeably. Usually a swing trader may be more inclined to hold a trade not more than a week. A positional trader could hold it for a week, but is also inclined to hold it for a month and even more.

As I mentioned in the other post, even day trading is not required to milk a lot of screen time. It really comes down to knowing what you are looking for. I trade forex, so it is also imperative to be aware of the time of day it is.
What it really comes down to is what I've said so many times in this forum. A market can only go up or down. That's 50-50 right there. If you hone the proper skills with a correct and concise methodology, then you have given yourself an unfair advantage over the markets. So, when your methodology has told you that tomorrow the market is going north, then do what of 2 things: 1. Enter right now, and then go outside and get some exercise; 2. Put an entry order up, and then go outside and get some exercise.

Believe me, I spend more time answering e-mails and in this forum than I do evaluating my next trade. I spend screen in front of a chart to further my education, or to look for new ways to be enlightened.
Some may disagree with me, but I believe the learning never quits. There are no degrees here. The big difference is when we learn what we need to learn, we just make more money in lesser time than the ones going to college to get 8-year degrees.

No question about it. If my post implies other way, I apologize. I also tried to mention the same. We should dedicate/invest time to learn.

When you consider the freedom that trading avails someone...
One of the main fact why I got attracted to stock market . Though there are now many other interesting facts I learnt. I am sure for experienced people like you, chart reading is like reading a news paper. I started recently to look into less than EOD hence spending more time in learning day trading systems.

I knew you did not imply otherwise. That was just a comment I made.
It's funny that after 7 1/2 years of doing this, you are right inasmuch that I can spot trading opportunities almost on the fly. I don't labor in front of the screen looking for those opportunities. They just come to me.
The flip side of that is that I still realize how much there is to still learn. I understand how I can never take anything for granted. It's amazing how the markets will humble you in a hurry the minute you lose your focus.
