The Nifty is new to me

Hello,

I've been in stocks and commodities since April with Sharekhan's trade tiger platform.

I've recently become acquainted with SH's 315 trading strategy and am now interested in trading the NIFTY.

I'm not sure how to start trading the NIFTY. Is it to be traded as a derivative or a future or both. I've seen posts about the NIFTY in both the derivative and futures section of TJ.
What is my leverage multiplier if there is one?

Do I need special permissions to trade the NIFTY? I have signed papers with sharekhan to trade the NSE/BSE and separate papers to trade commodities.

I see the NIFTYBees is trade able in the NSE segment. The FO section in Sharekhan's TT is inaccessible to me and I think trading the NIFTY requires access to the FO segment???

I'm interested in knowing more about trading the NIFTY as a derivative or futures.

Futures are derivatives too!!! We have Nifty Futures that you can trade and also Nifty Options!! NiftyBees is an ETF!! You need to be able to trade the FnO section to trade either Nifty Futres or Options.

I plan to start with Mininifty

I think I need 12,000 Rs for positional trading the Minifty as per http://www.traderji.com/trading-diary/54632-minifty.html#post552243

My question now is, if the NIFTY goes up or down by 10 rupees, how much profit or loss do I make on one Minifty?
Reduce your brokerage and other charges from Rs.200/- :D that will be your Net gains subject to Income Tax!! :p

Mininifty is 20 units lot and Nifty a 50 unit lot!!
For Minifty for every ONE point rise you gain a Gross profit of Rs.20/-
Trust this helps!!
