Demat account with first name Last name interchaged..

Dear Trader Community

A friend of mine have recently created a Demt account with one of the DPs . To illustrate, his name is Firstname : Ajay and Last name : misra (pls note the names are changed )

The Demat he expected was to have "Ajay Misra " , but it is created as "Misra Ajay". but,, all others like PAN card are linked correctly.

Is this valid and has any impact. Please advise .

Name in The Demat account & Trading account should be as per the PAN Card.

If the mistake is from the DP's side then they will have to open another Demat account free of charge.... because Name Change in the Demat account is not allowed....

You can change everything except personal details such as Name, Birth date/month/year.

They are the ones who goofed up.... it is their mistake they have to.....and the present Demat will need to be closed.....see that your friend doesn't get conned into paying again....since the goof up is from DP
