Company moved to trade-to-trade

#1
Hi,

I started trading only a month back.

I have 500 shares of Batliboi, which I purchased at different times in the past week at different prices from NSE. From Friday (20th August) onwards, only one segment was opening, Batliboi - BE, and not Batliboi - EQ. I came across a webpage giving this info at the bottom:

http://www.fourstocks.com/news/stocks-to-look-at-biocon-icici-bank-wipro--and--yes-bank/31466

What does BE mean? I tried to search on the net and came up with trade-to-trade, but I don't understand what is explained. Can I sell the shares I bought from EQ to BE, or do I have to wait till it comes back to EQ? The price has also fallen by two to three rupees in this segment.

BE series, or trade to trade segment, means that you cannot do intraday trading in these scrips. If you buy a scrip in BE, you have to compulsorily take delivery of the shares. Similarly, if you sell, you have to deliver the shares.

There is difference between T and Z segment, and specifically when moves to Z group for failing to make demat arrangements is all together difference topic.

So can I sell the shares bought in EQ to the BE segment?

Because the BSE site says something about returning the company back to its original group after three months:

Whatever be the status of the Stock when you bought, you can always sell it at the current status...i.e. Batliboi bought when it was in EQ and now you can sell it even if it is in BE segment. Difference is that in EQ you can sell and square your sell before the close by buying back. However in BE you cannot square your trade, though you can buy the same day but have to give delivery of the shares sold and take delivery of the shares bought.
