Yes but it can get a little time consuming and lots of paper work, still there is no other option.

Firstly
All dealings on behalf of a company is handled by the share registrar and transfer agent (RTA). With them you have to write an email or send a hrad copy letter by snail mail. This you should do to confirm the Folio numbers and the certificate numbers.
Do this first.

Next you need to download the indemnity certificate from the company website and fill it up. This may require several details and document proofs. The most difficult of these is to have a third party indemnify themselves against any possible fraud. The way forward is to take the services of your Mum's auditor for this purpose.

Mandatory proofs like PAN card etc are necessary but in the case of your fathers holding you need to produce the death certificate and sometimes legal heir certificate.

One more thing is there mat be different methods for different companies as per is no standard way specified some companies are more troublesome than others.
