ICICI direct account

i have recently opened an account with ICICI bank. now i plan to open a demat and trading account with ICICI direct.
what are the charges for such an account as well as the maintenance fees.
actually, i am thinking of doing online trading. am i moving in the right direction.
can anyone please guide what is best for me.

There are a lot of negative reviews about ICICI direct. Make sure you search this forum to read what has already been posted here instead of asking people to repeat everything for you.

The only disadvantage is the it has the highest brokerage fees.
If you are doing long term investing icicidirect is simple, trusted and good to start with.
Also it provides equity, currency, FnO, commodities, ETF, Mutual funds all in one account.

Another advantage is the simple link of icici bank and icici direct. with other brokers there might be a lag (hours/days) to get money from a bank account to trading account.

If you are looking for day trading,FnO then icici direct high brokerage is not advisable

I started trading with ICICIDIRECT learnt alot from them its much easy for beginners like me. happy with services ONLY HATE THE HIGH BROKERAGE I hope they will reduce the brokerage charges someday. I only do DAY trading with them and I had much better success rate here compare to other brokers I tried. I can even login through my mobile phone browser and keep track of the position.

One big advantage is your bank account is linked you can withdraw the profits with T+2 days whereas in other pvt brokers you have to wait for 7+ days. the procedure to allocated funds from your bank to trading etc., is very simple and fast

Its much simpler compare to complicated App based s/w.
they have introduced app based terminal TradeRacer which is faster then the browser.

I am using ICICIDirect for last 7 years and fully satisfied with them. They provide live tips for day traders and for long term investors its best as there are many product under one roof like shares, mutual fund , commodities , IPOs and NSCs etc. Brokerage is little high but its justified as for every better thing you have to pay a little more.
