Hello All Gurus

I am software professional and have been investing in market since last one-two years but not regular. All are like investments not trading. Most of the investments are made when the market was on high levels. I have not been investing since last 5-6 months. I only invested after taking some tips from friends. But now I am serious about it and want to do intraday trading I can take some risk. Please guide me how to start is there any good forum or thread available. I am not aware about all technical terms like Nifty Future, Stop loss. I can do serious study but do remember I am not from financial background as I was a science student.

One good thing with me as i am an IT guy so can acccess a computer and net on most of the times. I need one more advice right now i am having my DMAT account with IDBI Paisabuilder is it ok?

Please help me…

Thanks
I have a good hope in all you experts

Hi Manish, Welcome to traderji family. Seems you are serious about trading.. and you won't be disappointed by amount of practical knowledge that is available here in TJ.
Plz chk out beginners section.. go thru "Teach a man to fish.. " thread.. and get your basics of chart reading right. If you are looking at short timeframe trading then knowledge of technical analysis is must. There are many active threads.. so plz participate and learn from there..

Better to learn from others mistake, rather then from your own.
Market is costly place to make mistakes..

All the best.
Happy Trading

manish ,one more advice i would like to give, it is always better to have your demat and trading account with a broking firm rather than having it with a bank, the kind of support u could get from brokers, will never come from bankside.
i would please to help u out in this regard if u could provide me your contact details..

hi manish
this is my first post. if u r really serious to do trading then u must learn before u start to trade. the best books on the subject are by dr alexander elder. if u search the web u will be able to download his books for free. another lesson i have learned is not to trade on tips ie not trading but gambling.
best of luck

I don't suggest day trading to you. The reason being you are an IT guy who would have lots of work to do during the day...you can't stick yourself all day to a PC and take a look at streaming quotes...can you?. You can spoil your concentration on your job and get stressed too..

Better learn the investing principles first and go forward.

Regarding IDBI demat, how is the performance?. Are you happy with it?
