What is Dividend?

I am new to online trading. I have purchased some shares as well without knowing a to z about it. Here I would like to know about dividend - query 1.

Query 2 is that, I could see two kinds of symbols while purchasing a share, e.g. SATYAMCOMPEQ and SATYAMCOMPBE, what are the difference between these two?

Me too want to know difference between EQ and BE

Dividend is the some % amount of profit is given to the shareholders of the company.

Ex: Suppose you have 10 shares of abc face value of Rs.10 and company announced dividend of 30%
then you will 30% x10(face value)=Rs. 3 per share, total=Rs. 30 for 10 shares
