Question on TA and using sharekhan

Hello everyone,
I have few basic questions on trading and trading tools, I am really new to trading. I started just last week, still learning and reading. I have invested a small amount to try to learn.
1. Question about technical analysis – obviously we need fundamental analysis, statistics, financial condition of the company. But confused with technical analysis, as it really doesn’t deal with financial statistics, all it does it future prediction based on past. My question on technical analysis is – how much efficient is it, how does it really affect trading?
2. What are good tools for technical analysis?
3. I am using sharekhan for trading, I find it little confusing, I often get confused with terms in trading. Can anyone using sharekhan tell me how to put stop loss order, how to put trailing stop order and how to short sell?

classic account or tradetiger account.TradeTiger is having capability
of Technical Analysis with 9 tools.You keep on experiment with it since
you have NOTHING to lose.

I have both Classic and TradeTiger, online account. I tried to put orders with limit and trigger values, but it works only for intraday trading. The order dosent stay active for/till next day, or any period longer. Is that the normal thing or am I doing it wrong? How can I put short sell/stop loss/trailing trigger orders (IOC/GTC) for a position?
