Dear Buzz,

I like to keep this thread as a Step By Step Learning guide so I can only progress topic by topic. At this moment I like to advice you to be very careful in trading futures.
Futures are highly leveraged system so profit and loss will accumulate higher.
Also please remember that you cannot just hold a futures till expiry(1 to 3 months according to the contract selected) as like stocks in demat account. For the futures positions you hold, the exchange will "credit" or "debit" MTM each day.
Do paper trades before you trade with real money.

Regards and Thanks,
Hari.

Dear rkkarnani,

Thank you for guiding rkkarnani. I wrote a long reply to his post about futures trading yesterday, suddenly my browser hanged and lost the writings before posting. I was not in a mood to write them all again.

I plan to elaborate the thread from this Friday onwards. Thank you for your active presence in this thread and hope it will continue.

Regards,
Hari.

Thanks Buzz,

I am from Kerala and is having the Onam Festival Vacation of 10 days from the day after tomorrow. So I plan to put something in bulk here from friday. Sorry till date.

Actually NIFTY FUTURES trading is safer than all others as its more directional. But the risky part comes with high leverage in it. For trading 1 lot(50) nifty worth Rs:2,25,000 you only need less than Rs:30,000 as of now. That's the dangerous part in it. If you have good capital and is ready not to use such high leverage then trading in Nifty futures is the safest thing. Say if you decide to trade only 1 lot Nifty with a capital of Rs:2,25,000 you are 100% safe. But you can less leverage as much as you can.

Hope you mean.
Thank you.
Hari
