I'm a first time investor. I want to do invest in stock market..like buying shares..Have no clue how i'm going to go about doing it..but i understand that one has to open a demat account..
i've heard that icicidirect is a place where many people like myself have opened demat accounts..any advice / suggestions...??

having opened an account with ICICIDirect u have all three accounts((1)TRADING(2)DEMAT(3)BANK) with them.
what matters is customer care service,brokerage,reliability etc.
paarameters for aforesaid factors too are different for different people.
happy trading/investing

I donot know why icicidirect was suggested.There are many many demat services providers & ways to open demat accounts.
Icicidirect is the costliest affair to deal with pl if you trust me dodnot ever open account with icicdirect.

Reliance money is another crook and the services are the worst i have ever seen.

Why not sharekhan,Indiabulls or kootak mahindra? Can anybodyy advise .

nothing has been suggested.
first impression was that, having opened the 3 in 1 a/c,himmebleu was going for demat a/c.
