Default Help me make my portfolio

hi,

as my post goes, i am a newbie here.... and currently have saved around 85k and invested in the market..... this market bearish or bullish, i am unable to get even a simple clue..... hence asking for help to make me understand how to proceed from my current position....

my current job give me ample time to do intraday trading... but i am stuck with an ultra slow office internet connection and icicidirect account.... hence i can take profit of small variation in stock prices....

Here is my current portfolio....

86 share relpow @ avg incl brok 398 (incl my 15 ipo shares @ 430)
85 shares relpet @ avg incl brok 175
20 shares relcom @ avg incl brok 689
1000 shares krishna lifestyle @ incl brok 2.87
20 shares gujamb @ avg incl brok 120.6

Totaling to around 78000 bucks....

have around 10000 for day trading... yup i am broke.....

*********

What help i need.....

i gonna keep investing atleast 5000 per month to build up to 2lac by year end.... now i want to divide into following categories.....

1. Around 80k in long term 1-2 yrs
2. Around 80k in short term 3-6 month
3. Around 30-40k for day trading which i would at day end use for BTST trading.....

Please tell is the allocation right... am i too conservative or too agressive....

Secondly....
Please tell me what books i can read to understand more about charts..... and strategies for short term, daily and long term trading.... i have started with "The little book the beats the market"

Your suggestions and strategies would help me immensely....

Regards
Neo

hello mate!
may i ask why you brought the above shares?...& with what time frame?

the company with the highest allocation in your portfolio is rel power which has no earnings...

if i were u...
i would sell rpower, rpl, krishna lifestyle above my cost price ...
rcom i would hold until rel infratel ipo is comin'...

guj ambuja i have no idea right now...i don't track it...

for a long term portfolio try to look at stocks with high earnings visibility...look at the valuations
and broad sector outlook and stock performance relative to sector...

ex..take psu banks sector...outlook is quite bullish on it...valuations are looking reasonable so u could
study stocks like PNB,BOB,BOI,Dena Bank etc...compare these to the Blue chip SBI too...
now take auto sector...outlook is here bearish...so the odds of picking a winning stock from this sector would be against u...
well that dosen't mean u can't pick a winning stock from this sector it just means that when the whole auto index
underperforms the market the chances of a stock delivering an above average return automatically come down...however u can buy a
auto stock as a contrarian buy...

for a portfolio of abt Rs100000 i would not invest more than 20000 in any stock...ideally depending on the company u can allocate betn
5-20k for it...have stop losses and once u get profits lock atleast 50% profits with stops...u can also look at hedging using etf's and options
to protect ur portfolio...

abt books, tutorials u can find plenty of them on the forum just check...marcus just posted an amazing thread on options videos!

if in doubt don't take positions and start with small amounts...
happy investing mate

dear neo must not die

Do not invest in shares without studying the underlying principles of investment. INR78,000/= OR INR.1000,000/= is not the question.
once you are confident about the company's earnings-present/future and other parameters, never invest in the market.
Never follow tips given by others-It may fool you. make your own analysis and then invest. Surely yr investment will grow.

@krishna23 and @rajkumar555 :

Currently i sold all reliance power share at 440 levels....
Sold Gujrat Ambuja all shares at 124 levels....

Holding relpet and relcomm.....

Brought Rel energy 25 shares @ 1630 levels.....
Brought 20 TCS @ 870 levels...
Brought Guj NRE 20 shares @ 160 levels...
Brought 1000 Kohinoor Broadcasting @ 9 levels...

u can look at averaging reliance comm. at around 500-550 levels when u get a chance...would bring ur cost price down.
