Arrow Opening Moves Confusion

I am bit confused on the opening moves, yesterday I placed an order to sell few shares (for example, of Rs.500/share just before the market opens (at 9.53 a.m. or 9.54 a.m. - I am using Reliancemoney) when the market opens it shows the high price is Rs.520.00/share and currently trading at Rs.477.00/share.

Then, I checked my order book and it shows the order is pending.. Why it did'nt sell on the price Rs.500? (the day before it closed Rs.470) and after 45 mins when the price passes on Rs.500 and checked my account, this time it shows the shares are TRADED...why the share did not sold on the market opening while the high price goes at Rs.520.00... I am confused or I missed anything...

hello dear i also experienced the same problem i have demat account with master capital . but i found out what was the reason.
i will explain in detail. yesterday i placed sell order of IDBi at Rs 174 the price met but the order was pending i enquired from my broker he told that the limit of main broker was blocked for some time. so i cancelled the previous order and placed a fresh order and this time the order executed. actually what happens is that every broker has a set limit to trade. and if the orders are higher then they can not be executed.

best of luck

That's amazing! Now we have to find a good broker that gives me the opportunity to execute the order as soon as possible.. so anyone know which broker does that?

Hi all , this is not the valid reason for trade done , I am in this business from last 7 years, actually when u place the order, it exexcutes only on first come first serve basis, if u are using the online facility it is bit slow as compared to direct brokers , so there some other person order can be mismatch, and its possible onle single trade done at this rate so dont worry, in case you have any other queries u can contact me at 9811634156, u can start trading with us also.

a transaction takes place when a buyer is available not just the price is hit... even if one share is bougt at that price it displays ..also ... are you first to place order or some one else has already placed at that price.so it is first in first out(FIFO).

most important ...a delivary based order is given priority while selling..compared to normal order.

Well this how exactly market making works! Actually just prior to market opening say 20 mins different bid ask data is collected from various brokers to let the price discovery mechanism of system work without allowing trading and thus you find price changes occurring even before market opens.
I know few people who only log on once before 1030 Hrs everyday and make a lot of money (risks) by taking calls on these prices and trends.

Regards,

SB
