My coding skills are bad bhai..
Just plain vanilla rules rules is not sufficient.. Some of the 4 huge losses are event days, which in common sense can be avoided..
Like that there are a few more..

Its better to forward test in realtime for atleast 90 trades to come to a conclusion. :thumb:

Its not abut profit/loss numbers.

I was saying about hit ratio. No of failed calls are 2 to 3 times to profit trades.

I do not think that begginers can do this system at their way easily......however one may follow 1 hour ribon change for entry and exit in only some selected cash shares.......see following bar replay chart.....when 1 hour OBV changes from red to blue go long at minor pull back (for better RR...) and when ribon changes from blue to red go short at minor pull back.....

booked profit and reverse entry......

every method will looks good when we just look some charts :)
for correct results must be a longer time backtest and live test needed ...ofcourse with clear mechanical rules ...my views

As an intraday system, we should test atleast 12 months (preferably months that include low volatility, ranging, high volatility, trending(volatile/non volatile).

Whenever i backtest an intraday system, i include 2-3 months from second quarter of 2012, aug/sep 2013, some months from 2014/2015, 2 months from 1st half 2016 and 2 months from 2nd half 2016. This would encompass almost all the conditions nicely.

As VJAY said, it must be completely mechanical. No discretion or ambiguity in what pullback is ..it should be clearcut as 'PB to 36ema or no trade(just to give an example). As i mentioned in some other post, discretion is reserved for experts and not for amateur traders like me :(

Hi,

This is a query to all OBV method user. Your help is much required.

Can anyone tell me please whether the OBV method can be setup on non-amibroker platform as well? If yes, kindly tell how. I'm using RKSV Upstox, I also have an account with Zerodha but I use it rarely but can use it if required.

Thanks

The ribbon method cannot be set up in platforms other than Amibroker ( such as Kite,Sharekhan etc.) But 200 MA and PDC OBV can be set up in any other charting platform.

On March 23rd, price and OBV in BNF were speaking different languages I think, am I correct?

Today in NF one min also same I think.

Please correct my understanding if wrong. This is only an observation and I have high regard for Varun Ji and I like OBV cos it looks like it can make things easy.
