To be frank I am noob in this field [ Really a big noob, who knows nothing :( ] But before proceeding any further let me introduce myself :)
I'm Souvik, a 20 yrs old from Kolkata. As of now I do nothing but play games, watch movies on my PC. So, I was thinking if I could be a trader, but most importantly a day trader or swing trader because I find them thrilling ! Anyway, Can you guys please guide me a little to become a successful trader ?

I appreciate your enthusiasm for trading but I would recommend you to study further and get a stable job first. Trading is not easy and it requires a good amount of capital and psychological mind. Instead of using real money try trading in a virtual trading system like moneybhai or NSE pathsalla. You can buy and sell shares using these virtual systems without losing or gaining money. If you are new in trading then try virtual trading and you will understand why trading is hard. Any way there are two ways to trade one using fundamental analysis and other technical analysis. As you are interested in swing/day trading i would recommend to read about technical analysis

Earning from other source is essential for some person to keep away fear and greed.

If you want to fully depend on trading for your earnings, fear or greed may affect your decision making and may result in losses.

For learning, you must try virtual money on aforesaid sites, then paper trading as suggested by others.

It'll help you learn the basics and adopt some strategy.

Then start and trading with small amount of money till you train your emotions stay cool in any situation and also to refine your strategy.

Do read a lot. You'll get lots of learning materials and many seniors to help you in this web forum.

Like other profession trading is also a full time profession. It demands lots of effort and learning and sacrifices also.

Loss making trade is also essential part of the game. You can't have all winning trades. That's why earning from other source is initially essential. You may consider initial losses as your college fee for learning trading.

Word of caution, never use money which has been kept for other purposes. Never use borrowed money. Otherwise your decision making get affected.

Use your savings or spared earnings only. Use part of the savings only. Decide the amount clearly, which even if you loss may not affect your financial health. And strictly adhere to this amount, avoid temptation to increase it.

If you loss these all (which is most likely initially), then take a break from active trading to further study the rules of game and refine your strategy along with continue savings and earning for next try in trading.

All the best.

Hey Souvik :) When I was a newbie I tried to scalp but failed most times without uncontrollable trading (inability to control emotions). Adding to that I had small deposits and looses SL so I was ofter exposed to MC and SO.
After I switched to Hotforex broker and watched a couple of their webinars I moved on swing trader (within a week) and my min timeframe is 15 Min, cuz less is just noise or trends which are hard to profit from. Just use less risk and big moderate leverage and here you go..

Download demo metatrader from any broker (for example from Hotforex) and start to shoot with different trades to see how it works.
