basic timeframeset question

#1
Hi guys,

just would like to check if my understanding is correct with regards to timeframeset, expand etcetc.

Say I am currently using 15mins charts with price and indicators, using timeframeset I could go down to the 5 mins chart and by modifiying my indicators, still trade on a higher timeframe (the 15mins) but my indicators would be refreshed/updated in steps of 5 mins. Is that right?

thanks

1. the updation of data depends upon the frequency at which your data provider updates your data and has nothing to do with timeframes. all timeframe does is to compress that data received to the timeframe you have set and plots same according to the time frame you have selected.therefore if your data provider provides upadations every 5 seconds then you can use any time frame higher than that to plot the chart. on the other hand if your data provider gives updations every minute then you cannot plot that data in a time frame lesser than that say 30 seconds.

2. using timeframeset you can plot a higher timeframe from a lower timeframe and not viceversa. meaning you can plot 15 minutes bars on a 5 minutes timeframe chart and not 5 minute bars on a 15 minutes chart
